Evidently - 13th April 2015

Join us for another night of "clever, witty and thought-provoking entertainment" at Evidently! Boasting the fabulous talents of Ash Dickinson and Tom Kwei and hosted by Salford's own Kieren King.

Ash Dickinson is a writer, poet and comedy performer.

A multiple slam champion- including Edinburgh and Cheltenham- Ash won the BBC Radio 4 Midlands Slam in 2009. In the previous BBC National Slam in 2007 he progressed through the Scottish heats, eventually finishing among the top 8 in the UK. Ash was runner-up in the 2011 UK All Stars Slam.

Ash has been widely published in newspapers, magazines and poetry presses. He has compered busy cabarets and music nights, performed at private and corporate functions and supported bands. He is in heavy demand to run poetry workshops. His media appearances include BBC Radio, The Times, The Scotsman, Metro and Sweet TV.

Ash's debut collection, "Slinky Espadrilles", was published in May 2012 by Burning Eye Books.

Tom Kwei is performance poet from Birmingham who’s currently living in Liverpool. Coming to the art of performance poetry from an interest in hip-hop, his pieces are dense and lyrical, exploring everything from the aftermath of a relationship breakup to the creation of new words

Tom performs regularly around the country, competing in the 2013 Roundhouse Poetry Slam & recently supported acoustic virtuoso Jon Gomm at a sold out show

Also ten open mic spots are available (one poem - two minutes per poet) in the event that more than ten people wish to sign up, priority will be given to first time performers. We are filming each night so everyone who performs will get a shiny new Youtube video if they want one.

£3 on the door.

Forget what you learned at school, this is poetry as entertainment.
