Poetry to the masses - Funny, thought-provoking and entertaining...!

Evidently... MiKo Berry and Tim Ledwitch

Join us for another night of "clever, witty and thought-provoking entertainment" at Evidently!

Boasting the fabulous talents of MiKo Berry and Tim Ledwitch and hosted by Salford's own Kieren King.

MiKo Berry is the is the current European Slam Champion and former Scottish Slam Champion and took 4th place in the World Championships in Paris. He is also the founder of the poets' collective Loud Poets. His flair for combining the finest literary technique with consummate stage savvy ensures his kudos as a poet and a performer. Later this year he will be performing at Glastonbury Festival.

Tim is 27, and still likes dinosaurs, comic books and talking about himself disparagingly in the third person. He was Bristol's 2014 Hammer and Tongue Slam Co-Champion and STILL CAN'T LET IT GO. You can often find him somewhere in Bristol moaning on and on about his feelings. But sometimes it rhymes a bit, and he does it into a microphone. Which is nice, we guess.

Also ten open mic spots are available (one poem - two minutes per poet) in the event that more than ten people wish to sign up, priority will be given to first time performers. We are filming each night so everyone who performs will get a shiny new Youtube video if they want one.

£3 on the door.

Forget what you learned at school, this is poetry as entertainment.

"The clues are all there: hard work behind the scenes, a unique performance space, an up-for-it crowd, friendly hosting, top tech, a high standard of open mic and ace guests. Evidently a great poetry night!" - Tony Walsh - AKA Longfella.

"Evidently is a rip roaring, verse slinging, cheer rousing, heart filling, feet stamping riot of rhythm and rhymes. Hosted with humour, passion and spark. Top talent and true comradery among word weavers and watchers. Beautiful." - Dominic Berry.

“Evidently, for my money, is without doubt one of the best spoken-word nights in the country. Brimming with Manchester’s customary sense of rebellion, artistry and swaggering streetwise cool, it never fails to attract a large and loyal audience usually hungry for something new and host Kieren King always delivers.

Acting as both effortless compere and staggeringly good wordsmith he holds together a brilliant monthly event, which has so far attracted some the UKs best and most outspoken talent from the performance poetry scene.

This is no Dead Poets’ Society – just dead good poetry. Do yourself a favour.”
